My perception of me.
Answer these questions before reading this post.
- How do you want to be remembered?
- What do you represent?
- What motivates you to wake up in the morning?
These are questions we should be able to answer and our answer should reflect what we do with Jesus.
I have a passion to show and share the love of God to everyone I encounter. As I learn how to love, I practice loving in every situation, showing others how to demonstrate the love of God. Your passion and legacy, should be reflected through who you are and how you interact with others. When God blesses us it is now our mission to bless others by sharing that blessing. When we are blessed it’s not for us, it was given to us but now we are responsible for how we carry out that blessing selfishly or by sharing.
How do you want to be remembered, have you decided yet?
As the people of God in the earth our lives should represent Christ in the earth. What would Jesus do in a situation. Who we show others and who we really are should be one in the same. 1 Peter 3 : 1-2 says “Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.” I love this scripture this says to me that we have the power to influence a person in our lives in Christ by our faith, behavior, attitude, response, positivity and how we live our lives. That my friends is how I want to be remembered, by the way I live not for self but for God. How precious it is to know that the way we live can impact another. No matter what challenge you are facing fight in the right way by focusing on God (in prayer and relationship with God), don’t magnify your troubles by talking about it or focusing on it.
Be the change that you want to see in your situation.
What do you represent?
This speaks to our identity, a topic I would like to expand on in another post. We are ambassadors of Christ a representation of him in the earth. If we are indeed Christ in the earth as Galatians 2:20 says “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Christ being in us and we are a representation of him then how would we live in this earth? We should live lives that demonstrate Gods love, we would see beyond the faults of others and see who they can be in Christ and pray for them more that criticize. Our language and behavior should represent who we are and who we are is our choice will you choose to demonstrate the love of God in the earth or your selfishness. It’s not what enters a man defiles him but what comes out of the man. Often times what comes out of us is what we meditate on: negativity, gossiping, idle conversations, backbiting, strife, doubt, unbelief. These attitudes are not what Christ represents. God represents love, joy, peace, faith, long stuffing, all that is Good and praise worthy. As we aspire to be more like Christ, lets look out for instances where we can be nasty and turn it around.
What is your motivation?
Our pastor spoke on this topic a few weeks ago which had me thinking. I also share with you to get you thinking. He said, “our motivation should not be based on people in our lives, money or possessions cause those things can fade away. If God is our source of life our motivation should be to seek after what pleases him”.
I thought and prayed about it for the rest of the afternoon and came up with the following as my motivation. My motivation is knowing that God is working things out for me. Knowing that the promises outlined in his word is true as i have seen him transform me, my mindset in so many ways. And most of all knowing that through my life and how I live I can impact another life for him. If I can help one person recognize their true purpose in life, then I count myself to have accomplished something for God. I am motivated in knowing that my son’s first knowledge of Christ is from me. That is what I choose to do with Jesus.
