Why do we go through tough season in our lives? We can dwell here for hours in a day thinking about why and try to put some reasoning into the cause for our life struggles or we can see how our life struggles shaped us.
Hardest prayer to pray
This week, I was listening to Francis Chans message on Joy. In one video series, he mentioned how often he remembered his prayers for his children being, Lord safety, safety, safety. He referred to James, and the letter he wrote to the believers saying, count it all Joy when you enter into various trials, cause trials allows us to be able to endure all things. As a result he began to rethink his prayers for his children (Lord give them trials…, so that I can help them navigate it).
Praying this prayer might sound cruel but I dear say that according to the word of God our trials are the places in our lives that brings our greatest strength. Our children won’t be easily broken because we took the time to help them navigate through the issues of life, why, so that they can endure all things. There is growth in trials.
This made me think very hard about the stuff I have been through and my vision for my son. I want him to be safe but I also want him to be able endure all things. But he can’t endure all things without going through trials, same goes for us. How we navigate the trial can be used as a method to help someone else.
“My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! “For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up power within you to endure all things.”
James (Jacob) 1:2-3 TPT
Why not be silent?
As I am writing I am thinking, did my mom or dad ever had to face the things I did and will face 🤔. I will have to ask them, but what if we all begin to share, what if we begin to be open to those that are close to us, so they can learn the principles we applied in our process of overcoming. You know what! The devil will get so scared, because we use our overcoming experience as a tool to help each other, they will know that they are never alone. There is a scripture that talks about our brothers in the world experiencing the same trials, but why in trials do we feel like it’s me alone in this? “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.” I Peter 5:8-9 NKJV
It’s because my brother never shared what he had to endure. Shame is an enemy y’all and these filtered apps we have out here teaches us that our scars are not beautiful, but it’s the opposite, it’s not meant to be covered but uncovered so that we can help each other.
Each of us will know when there is a safe space created to share, unless we are so radical that it doesn’t matter. My trials thought me and will continue to teach me to endure so it’s my mission to share. Let’s all join in.
Love you much 😘
